Rail Trail Refuge

Short term accommodation for bicycle riders along Brisbane Valley Rail Trail

Location
Linville, QLD

Timeline
2020 - 2023

Positioned in a unique and upcoming area along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail the proposed refuge will accommodate up to 6 people in a simple, yet stylish building with all mod cons.

The refuge is mainly targeted to overnight bicycle riders, as well as motorcycle groups. Several covered and uncovered outdoor spaces allow for small gatherings or more private recovery after a day of cycling. The managers accommodation provides our client with everything to live there permanently. The design takes cues from traditional railway stations and reflects in the character of the township. Raw materials and exposed structures embrace the rural landscape.
